Terra Measurement Ltd. is proud to exhibit at the IHBC Annual School 2025 in Shrewsbury - a landmark event exploring the theme of context in heritage conservation, from setting and significance to sustainability and change.

This year’s School draws together conservation professionals from across the UK to consider how we manage and record the historic environment under increasing pressures - from climate change to development. Terra’s presence brings a timely focus to the importance of accurate, specification-led geospatial survey as the foundation for informed conservation and effective long-term stewardship.

We are showcasing examples of our work across heritage sectors - from castles to cathedrals - and sharing our IHBC Special Print Edition of The Geospatial Edge, which addresses a critical but often misunderstood issue: the ongoing disparity between Historic England’s two key documents on heritage recording:

Only the latter sets a clear, technical standard for long-term, scalable survey data - a message we are passionate about sharing with architects, engineers, planners, and all those responsible for conserving our built heritage.

Representing Terra at this year’s event are Natasha and Owen, who are on hand to offer guidance, answer questions, and share insights from our extensive heritage portfolio.

“Context isn’t just about setting - it’s about clarity,” says Terra’s Managing Director, Andy Beardsley, MRICS. “Without accurate, standards-based survey, we risk losing both the detail and the big picture of our historic places.”

We look forward to connecting with new and familiar faces across the conservation community at #IHBCShrewsbury2025.
